Elections 2009: Beginning of the End

This could very well be the Beginning-of-the-End of what will still be a long three more years of the Obama nightmare. The results are final in VA and NJ and those two states are now in the Republican column with the results in upstate NY still in doubt at this time. The spin by both sides will begin in earnest tomorrow, but tonight one can safely say that something has changed and that many Americans are sick of the way the nation is heading and are ready for a real change. Change not toward some radical form of a big spending government but a change toward smaller government and more fiscal responsibility. These elections today are but a tiny, a first step toward sanity and a step back from the insanity of Barack Obama. This is America and we Americans don't want government handouts, we don't want government telling us what we can and cannot do, we don't want big brother watching every move we make and most of all we don't want Obama's radical agenda imposed on us and our children. In my view, tonight Americans said no to the progressives and set a path back toward national sanity. This is the beginning of the end.

  1. Hoffman has lost in NY23, that is where the media and the White House will focus their attention. But New Jersey was the crowned jewel (that will probably be the only time I ever refer to New Jersey in that manner)last night. FOr the GOP to capture New Jersey we have to think that new change is in the air.
This was a great night for the GOP, but it is only one night. The GOP needs to build on this momentum and carry it into 2010.
You said it and the Democrats better listen-- this is the beginning.

  2. I was thinking the same thing. These results are good by themselves, but the Republicans/Conservatives, etc. need to build on them. The mid-term elections in 2010 are looming more and more important.

  3. Ron,

As good news as this undoubtedly is, I've yet to meet a single Democrat (and I live in DC) who will say to me that Barry is too radical for their likes. Not a one. So while it's about time for independents to detach themselves from Barry, the Dems are their usual blindly-loyal selves. Have you come across any, ahem, "sensible" Democrats?

  4. I used your Churchill quote as a part of my post today... It's only a beginning, there is still one hell of a fight ahead... And all I hear from people like Limbaugh right now is gloating, that is NOT what we need right now.

We need common sense people putting the message out there telling people, "Don't gloat, we are just getting started and THIS election was a drop in the bucket!"..

    That's MY message...

  5. T-A-C the only liberal I know down here in deep, deep red country(Mississippi)is my next down neighbor- she used to be a republican activist in her young days and worked for Haley Barbour, our current Governor and head of the Republican Governor's Conference--she is now a flaming liberal who thinks Obama can do no wrong. She does NOT think of him as radical.

  6. As I said Fred it is just a tiny baby step toward the finish line(the defeat of Barack), one that could easily be reversed.

  7. Typical, Ron.

Most people's analytical skills (and certainly on the Left) usually stop well short of any capacity for self-analysis.

  8. The Democrats in office now are seeing the light -- Obama can't deliver votes any more, for them or for himself. If he can't deliver, they won't be so willing to blindly follow him on his many "changes" to America. They should be very frightened.
