Scott Brown Wins

Scott Brown Wins

Tonight at 8:22 pm FOX News declared Scott Brown the winner in race for the US Senate in Massachusetts. At this moment Brown has 53% of the vote and Coakley has 46%. This special election was prompted by the death of Senator Teddy Kennedy. The democrats and members of the MSM are already in spin mode and rushing to the defense, not of Martha Coakley, but of BHO's agenda. As for Martha, hell she's being thrown under the bus for running a poor campaign. This was, as the democrat pundits at MSNBC put it, the cause of Coakley's defeat; that and the high unemployment numbers. Few if any of the liberal pundits placed any blame at the feet of the great one sitting comfortably (I should say uncomfortably to night), behind his desk in the Oval Office.

Tomorrow is another day and as always new challenges will appear on the horizon. But tonight for a brief moment we can bask in the light of victory!

I hope this sends a loud and clear message to Washington- Don't mess with our health care.

  4. The NYT has a great interactive map of Mass. w/ a breakdown of the votes. My old town, Wellesley, went just abouot 50-50.

The bloated whale and sad sould, TK, was the cork in the bottle keeping the vote permanently in the bottle for Dems.

His death and the subsequent fall from grace of the left in Mass is just beginning to show its effects.

Mass doesn't want nationalized health care. They already have mandated state health care and lots of retired folks have seen their coverage much reduced and their premiums increased.

Deval Patrick is a mini-me Obama, though it was Obie who took Patrick's mantra about change (and never gave him credit for it).

Can't say that Dem politics in MA are any cleaner than those in Cook Co. Boston has a Big Mean Machine for getting out the vote. But we've entered the realm of "Throw the Bums Out" and the noise is going to continue to grow between now and November.

In fact, Brown may have jump-started the national process.

Now that he's won, though, it's time to take a closer look at his platform, especially immigration. IIRC, it's not going to please many conservatives.

I hope he turns out to be another Bob McDonnell (the gov of VA come this weekend) but I fear it may have been a reaction against the overreach of the Dem machine, local & national, rather than a real vote for conservatism.

IOW, people are quite sure what they're voting *against* but are they as clear on what they want?

Usually when someone is this lionized and talked up, the post-honeymoon period is painful...

  5. Yeee Hawwww!

Toasting Scott Brown and all the wise folks who voted for him.

    Cheers!

May what he accomplished be repeated across the nation, over and over, and over.

  8. We'll see if congres and the president get the message in the coming days and weeks.
My bet is they won't....and if they don't they will pay for it later this year.
Either way, the next few weeks are going to be interesting to watch.

  11. A good day indeed. As stated
    Ron, battles loom on the
horizon. Now it will be very interesting to watch what Reid, Pelosi, Obama do to save their sacred cow, obamacare. Rome is burning and the demosocilaistacrats are just
    fiddling away.

  12. Today is great, but tomorrow will be a new fight. A bear is more dangerous when it is cornered.

  13. Yes we can bask in the glory for a little while. This was a great win and it should send a message to Washington. Perhaps congress will listen, but the president will not. We can enjoy this one, but we must remain focused on the ultimate goal, all eyes are now on November.

  14. Great news isn't it. The dems can spin this any way they want, but this is a warning shot from the American people, if those morons press ahead with their mad-leftist agenda, they can expect more seats to be wrested from them.

I hope obama is worried, he really ought to be, him running there to whine about croakley probably made things worse.
