Young People May Be Sorry They Voted For Obama

One thing I have learned over the years is that young people do NOT like being told what to do. And those in 18 to 35 group are going to be told they have to buy insurance coverage or else.... This group of young voters was one of the groups that supported and voted for Obama in the largest numbers. I doubt they will appreciate the president taking money from their pockets to pay for something they feel they don't need at this point in their life. Welcome to the real world of progressivism young folks, this is just the beginning of things you will not like. And something else guys this huge debt that Obama and gang are running up; I won't have to pay it off, no not me, it belongs to you and your kids. Yes, you voted for Obama and now you have to live in Obama's world. I would say it fitting. So buckle up and get ready for the rough ride into your future into that Utopian dream of Obama's Brave New World.

For young adults, many of whom do not have health insurance coverage, the health care reform bill will add a new and costly expense into their budgets.

Young adults are in for a wake-up call if health care reform passes.

For the first time ever, the federal government is going to require that everybody obtain health insurance coverage. For those who have insurance through their employers, the so-called individual mandate may have very little impact. But for young adults, many of whom are not currently covered, the health care bill will add a new and costly expense to their budgets.

"The Census Bureau tells us there are 18 million people between the ages of 18 and 35 who are uninsured -- roughly half of the uninsured population are younger people in that age group," said Anne Kim, with the non-profit think tank Third Way.

The individual mandate has teeth to it, and anyone who refuses to get coverage will be fined under the health care package.

Young people are going to bear a disproportionate cost in this reform. read more from FOX News

  1. Yeah; my nephew and two nieces, coddled to death by my brother and his wife, won't be happy when smacked with PENALTIES if they deign NOT to have their own medical insurance. So who will pay? Perhaps it will be MOMMY and DADDY, once again to the rescue!

O yes, Mr Obama, the arbiter of Das Hopenchange!

I don't know that I can agree with that in it's entirety, I was a Conservative at age 20, just not as vocal about it as I am now...

  3. I have a thought that many of our government educated are fixing to get a lesson not taught by their unionized teachers.

That being, decisions do indeed have consequences. Thus, voting for Obama or any other progressive big government politician is the negation of freedom.

  4. BZ, "Das Hopeandchange", I would called it "Die Hopeandchange"! German articles can be confusing, but you get my drift!

  5. Fred, I was a Goldwater conservative in 1964, and have continued moving right since that time. I am nudging "Atilla the Hun" off the end of that limb now!

  6. Great comments. Used them in a post today. Young people will learn that enthusiastic voting for a "zero" does not add up to "no consequences."

I would loved to have used your photo but being a family oriented site, had to find something else. But your photo speaks volumes in itself.

  7. Ron - Your comment to TexasFred must mean we are "twin political brothers." Nice to know sanity runs in the genetic pool.

One of the texts, I used teaching grad students was "Victory Secrets of Attila the Hun" by Wess Roberts. I guess I should tweet a few of the Hun's (Robert's) thoughts. McCain should have read the book - especially Attila on: "self-inflicted Wounds Are Hazardous to Your Career." Looks like GOP Chair Michael Steele is heading down that road.

  8. I think they are in for a rude awakening. Some will wake up. Others never will. You can't fix stupid.

  9. I would normally agree with you on this, however Fox did a man-on-the-street survey and just about all of the young people responded that they would be happy to "pay a little more out of their own pockets" if it would result in everyone having health care, that health care "is a moral right".

They are so brainwashed, that they don't truly understand what is happening.

(That picture looks like child porn almost, the boy is so young.)

  10. Now that you mention it Debbie, he does look young. I was just looking at the writing on his body and not at the face. I will have to assume he is of age. I would never promote child porn in anyway. Usually my wife proof-reads my article, but she did get a chance to do this one, or I'm sure she would have mentioned something. I may change the image.

  12. If I understand the bill correctly, young people will be able to stay on their parents' health-insurance plan up through age 26. IMO, this is a deliberate attempt to curry Dem votes from those ages 18-25.

  13. They are going to be very mad, and they sure aren't going to "get out the vote" like last time for him and his evil minions! Good!

  14. Well, at 19 I joined the Army because I thought Reagan was going to wipe Libya off the face of the earth, so I guess I came into my 20s moving right and am now a racist teabagging mobster from flyover country who no doubt is now on the pResident's enemies list.

Today's young people? I think their "hope" just ran them over with a Kenworth ... so I can only imagine how many of them will turn "nazi" as they age.

  15. Yes, young Obama voters are going to be in for the roller coaster ride of their life. I hope that progressives forcing young people to buy health insurance will turn them into conservatives.

  16. I find it somewhat ironic that like most criminals who miraculously find "Jesus" after commiting a crime, do so in the back of the squad car on the way to jail...

The dipsticks trying to ram health care down our throats have made it impossible to enforce the young to purchase insurance... They will merely pay the fine and then purchase health care in the back of the ambulance on the way to the hospital...

Rember when the only "ambulance chasers" were lawyers... Now they will have to compete with the unscrupulous insurance salesmen...

Better idea, s**t can this entire health care debacle...

  17. BAA, I've thought about this same thing, the insurance salesman waiting at the hospital door to insure the sick as they are rolled in. This will happen if the bill is passed.

  18. It's an important lesson that many have to learn, careful what you wish for.

Glad to hear the ones who wanted it will be the ones paying for it, it doesn't always turn out that way so it's nice when it does happen.

  19. Every time I look at how much was removed from my check for social security and medicare I get angry. Now we have wonderful new unsustainable social program that will be broke long before I get any of my money back. It's theft, not redistribution, or charity, it's theft.

  20. Sorry, Trestin but when Big Brother does it, its for you own good because you don't have the sense to put away for your future---its the New American way, the progressive system of "cradle to grave" Nanny State!

  22. If it is of any comfort my daughter
who was totally ga ga over the
dufus that is Obama(she is soon to
be 18) has turned the corner to the right. In talking to her many
friends they are so disgusted with
Obama and his socilaist friends most will be be voting to boot these Rasputins out of office as the majority of them will be able
to vote in this years elections.

As for myself, I am right there
with you Ron on that limb.

I have cross posted this to my
my site giving you full honors.
    Excellent work!

  23. Great post. And I think that many young people are starting to understand what's going on and are regretting very much their vote for BO. However, many more of them have simply returned to their lives and are as unaware as ever of what is going on in this country and in their government. Things will have to get pretty bad before they rise up . . . and they will.

  24. If Obama loses the young voters he is all done. He is already losing the independent voters. I just wonder if the young voters are paying attention, perhaps they will when it starts hitting them in the wallte.

If you are one of those who doesn't like this site, why do you keep returning? Move to a Muslim country where self-flagellation is the norm.
