LBJ'S VOTING RIGHTS ACT OF 1965 WAS INTENDED TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR MINORITIES TO VOTE, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME HIS "GREAT SOCIETY" PROGRAM WAS INTENDED TO BUY THE VOTES OF THOSE GROUPS. I SERIOUSLY DOUBT PRESIDENT LYNDON JOHNSON WOULD HAVE SUPPORTED THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT IF IT MADE IT EASIER FOR REPUBLICANS TO VOTE. LBJ WAS A POLITICIAN JUST AS BHO IS! AND NEITHER DOES ANYTHING WITHOUT FIRST CHECKING OUT THE POLITICIAN CONSEQUENCES. THE NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY HAS BEEN PLAYING THE RACE CARD FOR OVER A HUNDRED YEARS AND SHOWS LITTLE SIGN OF ABANDONING THEIR RACIST HISTORY.
THERE WAS A JOKE TOLD ABOUT LBJ DURING HIS TIME AS PRESIDENT AND ABOUT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH BLACKS. SEEMS THE PRESIDENT WAS ON ONE OF FREQUENT TRIPS TO TEXAS AND BEING CHAUFFEURED TO ONE OF MANY FUNDRAISERS IN A BLACK LIMO WHEN IT WAS PULLED OVER FOR SPEEDING BY THE FIRST BLACK HIGHWAY PATROL OFFICERS. AS THE OFFICER APPROACHED THE LIMO THE REAR SIDE WINDOW CAME DOWN AND WHEN THE PATROLMAN LOOKED INSIDE HE SAW LYNDON JOHNSON---THE STARTLED OFFICER JUMPED BY AND SAID, "MY GOD". LBJ SAID, "AND YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT." THIS SIMPLE STRAIGHT FORWARD JOKE SYMBOLIZES HOW WHITE LIBERAL DEMOCRATS VIEW BLACKS TO THIS VERY DAY.
