In the 1960's Americans, especially those on the right, were obsessed with the "Red Scare". The leftest Hollywood film makes of that era like Stanley Kubrick often used those feelings of an of an imminent commie attack to poke fun or scare the hell out of their comrades in the revolution. You see in those days it was the right who saw the danger from the USSR and those on the left who minimized the dangers coming from that part of the world. After all, the American left, in many ways, marched in lockstep with their socialist brothers in Russia. This was not just reflected in the Hollywood films of the day, but in the political arena resulting in the infamous ""Daisy Ad"
during the 1964 election between Barry Goldwater and Lyndon Johnson. An election that saw Democrats painting Goldwater as a right-wing extremist with an itchy finger on the White House 'Red Button', that would send the nukes flying and result in total world destruction. I should add, these tactics worked and Goldwater suffered a stunning defeat in that year's election.

Funny how things change. Now with Donald Trump sitting in the White House, the "red scare" is still with us, but this time it is those on the left who are warning of the dangers coming from the Russian state. I suspect the left has not changed it's stripes, but rather their hate of President Trump that is driving them into the "The Russians are Coming" camp! Actually, I find it amusing that progressives have come around to my way of thinking on the Russian threat. Although, I realize this rouse will past as soon as Trump leaves the White House. Something I hope doesn't happen for 8 more years.

Both sides deal in fear. The left is really good at the fear stuff. It didn't work this time, so they have taken to the streets among other things. There is more to come.
Have a fabulous day. ☺
Love that vid, posted it many times.
I think better relations between the US and Russia is a good thing. Russia is a poor country. not giving them our wealth but giving them our guidance could go a long way to improving relation between our countries.
youtube- russian driving videos. I've watched hours of these things. There are not many attractive living areas in Russia...
