A Tale of Two Cites: Hiroshima and Detroit

IN 1945 THE JAPANESE CITY OF HIROSHIMA LAY IN RUINS WITH SOME 100,000 OF IT'S CITIZENS EITHER IN THEIR GRAVES OR THEIR REMAINS INCINERATED  BY THE FIRE BALL GENERATED BY AN AMERICAN ATOMIC BOMB DROPPED BY A LONE B-29 (THE ENOLA GAY) ON THE LAST FEW DAYS OF WWII.  WHILE AT THE SAME TIME ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD THE SPRAWLING METROPOLIS OF DETROIT, MICHIGAN WAS BOOMING WITH IT MILLION PLUS, PEOPLE ENJOYING THE GOOD LIFE.  TODAY THE TALE OF TWO CITIES IS REVERSED, WITH  HIROSHIMA RISING LIKE THE MYTHICAL PHOENIX FROM THE ASHES, AND DETROIT PLUNGING INTO A VAST WASTE LAND CAUSED BY PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATIC POLITICS.  DETROIT IS A WARNING TO THE REST OF AMERICA AS TO WHAT CAN HAPPEN IF UNCHALLENGED AND RUN-A-WAY PROGRESSIVISM IS NOT CHALLENGED.  THOSE IN DETROIT, WHO FOLLOWED THE PARTY LINE FOR DECADES HAVE REAPED THE WHIRLWIND AND NOT THE UTOPIA DEMOCRAT PARTY LEADERS HAD PROMISED.  TODAYS MOTOR CITY IS OFFERING A LESSON, UNLESS WE ARE TOO DUMB TO SEE IT.  AS THE OLD SAYING GOES, "THOSE WHO DO NOT LEARN FROM HISTORY ARE DOOMED TO REPEAT IT."
