From what I gather Ron the protest started when, as part of ramping up anti-nuclear sanctions, the British Embassy implemented the policy of reducing our student intake from Iran.
So to express their concern about being delayed entry to our universities those same students decided to smash up our Embassy. Hardly the way to win friends and influence people, let's hope our spook photographers were busy.
