ACCORDING TO MOST NEWS ACCOUNTS THE FORCES OF "THE NEW ORDER" HAVE TAKEN CONTROL OF TRIPOLI WHILE THE FATE OF MOAMMAR GADHAFI REMAINS UNKNOWN WITH SOME SOURCES CLAIMING HE HAS BEEN CAPTURED AND OTHER CLAIM HE HAS ESCAPED TO ALGERIA. AT ANY RATE THE GADHAFI REGIME SEEMS TO BE OVER AFTER 40 YEARS IN POWER. THE QUESTION NOW IS WHAT WILL EMERGE FOR THIS "NEW ORDER" THAT HAS APPARENTLY GAINED POWER. IT COULD A VICTORY FOR THE LIBYAN PEOPLE OR THE BIRTH OF ANOTHER DESPOT.

The smart money is on a hardline tablian-style regime taking over. That's the way it goes in the muslim world.
It will become a Moderate Musloon Democracy "Hillary Style".
The establishment of the Arabs first pluralist democracy would be a pleasant surprise and the Moslems have shown little evidence of influence thus far.
Either way we should keep our noses out of their affairs though I expect that your CIA and our MI6 are busying away as we speak.
