Political Correctness always has as it's first victim TRUTH. Moderates in America or Just Road Kill

Those in the middle stand for little to nothing and ebb and flow with the prevailing tides of public discourse. OIL ANYONE

As you may know, Cruz Construction started a division in North Dakota just 6 months ago. They sent every Kenworth (9 trucks) we had here in Alaska to North Dakota and several drivers. They just bought two new Kenworth's to add to that fleet; one being a Tri Drive tractor and a new 65 ton lowboy to go with it. They also bought two new cranes (one crawler & one rubber tired) for that division.

Dave Cruz said they have moved more rigs in the last 6 months in ND than Cruz Construction moved in Alaska in the last 6 years.

Williston is like a gold rush town; they moved one of our 40 man camps down there since there are no rooms available.

Unemployment in ND is the lowest in the nation at 3.4 percent last I checked.

About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil does the U.S.have in the ground?"
Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more than all the Middle East put together."

The U. S.Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota , Western South Dakota , and extreme Eastern Montana .

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska 's Prudhoe Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable( 5 billion barrels), at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion.

"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor.

They had no idea." says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst.

"This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

It's a formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and into Canada .

For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves, and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL! That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight.

AS  I PREDICTED IN YESTERDAY'S POST THE TWO LEADERS APPEARS TO BE CLOSE ALLIES IN THEIR PUBLIC STANCE AFTER A THREE HOUR MEETING.  WITH THE IRANIAN ISSUE PUT TO THE TOP OF THE AGENDA.  AT LEAST THIS TIME BIBI GOT TO USE THE FRONT DOOR OF THE WHITE HOUSE INSTEAD OF BEING USHERED IN THE BACK DOOR AS ON A PREVIOUS TRIP, BUT THEN IT IS AN ELECTION YEAR HERE IN THE STATES.   BARACK IS SAYING ALL THE RIGHT THINGS IN HOPE OF KEEPING THE JEWISH VOTERS CLOSE.   MANY HOWEVER, WILL NOT FORGET HIS FIRST 3 YEARS AND HOW HE TREATED THE STATE OF ISRAEL AND ITS LEADERS.  I DON'T KNOW IF A DEAL WAS STRUCK BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, BUT SOMEHOW I DOUBT IT.  I DO KNOW HOWEVER, WHAT NETANYAHU SAID BEFORE THEIR LONG MEETING:

TODAY BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA MEETS WITH BENJAMIN NETANYAHU AT THE WHITE HOUSE TO DISCUSS THE IRANIAN SITUATION.  WE ALREADY KNOW WHERE BOTH MEN STAND.  NETANYAHU HAS HIS BACK TO THE SEA WITH IRANIAN LEADERS THREATENING TO DESTROY THE JEWISH STATE AND BARACK OBAMA IS FACING RE-ELECTION WITH A BASE STRONGLY AGAINST ANY MILITARY ACTION AGAINST THE IRANIAN STATE.  OBAMA WILL PUSH FOR A WAIT AND SEE ATTITUDE CLAIMING THE SANCTIONS HAVEN'T HAD TIME TO WORK AND THAT IRAN IS YEARS AWAY FROM HAVING A BOMB AND THE MEANING TO DELIVER IT.  NETANYAHU ON THE OTHER HAND SEES THE IRANIANS MUCH CLOSER TO HAVING THE BOMB.  ONE MAN SEES AN EMINENT DANGER TO HIS NATION WHILE THE OTHER IS LOOKING AT HIS POLITICAL FUTURE.  THIS WHITE HOUSE MEETING WILL NOT BE FRIENDLY, JUST LIKE THOSE IN THE PAST.  IT IS QUITE CLEAR THAT OBAMA HAS NO LOVE FOR THE JEWISH STATE, BUT ON THE OTHER HAND IS FEARFUL OF THE JEWISH VOTE IN THE UPCOMING ELECTION.  BOTH WILL COME OUT OF THEIR MEETING TODAY AND PUT FORTH A PUBLIC FACE OF UNITY, BUT THE REALITY WILL BE SOMETHING ENTIRELY DIFFERENT.  WAR IS COMING BETWEEN IRAN AND ISRAEL AND OBAMA HAS LITTLE CONTROL OF THE UNRUSHING EVENTS.

Obama is Gulliver and We the Lilliputians

A while back I came across a post  concerning an interview Obama gave to "60 Minutes". In the interview Obama is seen giggling and laughing and is called on it by the reporter, to which he replies "well you need a little gallows humor" or something to that effect. Glad he mentioned hanging and not some conservative---now that would have created something of a fire-storm. The article mentioned that Barack looked and acted like he was high---the giggles, laughs, etc. Guess the truth will never be known---his actions did raise some eye-brows, however.

Anyway after reading the post and viewing the "60 Minutes" video, I got to thinking about by days some years ago and my frequent visits with Maryjane (marijuana). Often I would come in after a long hard day at the office change clothes and go to my friends house. There Tim, my friend, and I would relax and fire-up the old bong and enjoy the sultry Florida evening. During those long (and they were long) evenings we would discuss and solve most of the world's problems. However, I did notice the next day that all the solutions had slipped away and not to be retrieved until our next visit to Maryjanes place. During the trips Tim and I saw some things differently--I would focus on the small (like looking at the details of the bark on a tree), while my friend would focus on the large (the whole forest and beyond). I was looking to the infinity of the small and he the infinity of the large. He often said, "where the big meets the small there you would find the answer to it all." Tim is gone now, died at the young age of 44. I miss my friend. Enough of the reminiscing, back to that post on Obama.

While reading that thought provoking post I was reminded of Jonahan Swift's, Gulliver's Travels. And 3 of the 4 stories in his satire. The first being the best known of his visit to the land of the Lilliputians---the examination of the small and seemingly petty things in life. And next the visit to the land of the giants (the Brobdingnagians)---holding the magnifying glass up to the world and pointing out the imperfections. And finally, the land of the horses (the Houyhnhnms)---there Gulliver saw the perfection in nature, a Utopia. So as I read that post I was wondering what Obama was thinking of, if indeed, he was in a cloud of smoke--the Lilliputians, the Brobdingnagians, or the Houyhnhnms. Suddenly, the reality hit me---of course it was the Houyhnhnms! There he would have found his vision of a "Socialist Utopia." The perfect world which all liberals dream of and wish to impose on us all for our own good. Or maybe he sees something more ominous---he is Gulliver and we, well we are the Lilliputians.

Obama Would Like Israel to Turnover Their Security to Him

Obama now claims he knows how to handle the Iranian issue and make Israel more secure under his administration. In other words the Israelis should hand the ball off to him and let him run the show since the Israelis and the previous Bush administration had failed to make any headway on the issue during the previous 8 years. This problem has been building for many years and now is coming to a head.  Israel has been constrained by external forces which have reigned them in and caused them to wait and wait to see if sanctions work, while the Iranian move closer and closer to that day when the seismographs around the world will announce the birth of the bomb in Persia. And now the final straw, Obama wants the Israelis to turn over things to him---a half-African Arab, I bet the leaders in Israel are laughing at this idea. Does this man, this great leader think the Jews are complete fools?  I would love to be a fly on the wall next week when Bebe and Barack meet and Obama is informed that Israel will do what it has too with or without his blessing.

Man of the House

A husband had just finished reading a new book entitled, You Can Be THE Man of Your House. Finding new courage that he never knew he had, he stormed into the kitchen and announced to his wife, "From now on, you need to know that I am the man of this house and my word is the 'Law.' You will prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, bring it to me, and when I am done eating my meal, you will clear the dishes and serve me a scrumptious dessert. After dinner, you are going to go upstairs with me and we will make love the way I want! Afterwards, you are going to draw me a bath so I can relax. You will put on soothing music, wash my back and towel me dry and bring me my robe. You will massage my feet and hands to relieve any last bit of tension so that I can sleep like a baby.
