Gore-Backer Automaker Secures $529 Million Taxpayer Loan

Chalk this one up for Gore and company and we pick up the tab for a greenies pipe dream. $529,000,000 to build a hybrid car that will cost about $89,000 is out of the range of most Americans. As I see it this is enough money to build almost 6000 of these dreams cars. Hell they could just give away the first 3000 and have a quarter of a billion left to buy champagne to toast us dumb American taxpayers. Why is it every time a read a article about almost anything we are getting screwed by the White House gang. I predict this car will never reach the U.S. market and should it, they will be quickly snapped up by the Hollywood elite who will park them in their drive ways as a status symbol. A symbol only, because they will be driving their Bentleys and Rolls Royces of course they will buy their carbon credits to offset the 5 mpg their Rolls gets.

Former Vice President Al Gore's campaign to save the planet from global warming has netted him a Nobel Peace Prize, an Academy Award and now $529 million in taxpayer money.

The federal government has loaned $529 million to Fisker Automotive Inc., a small car company backed by Gore to help build a hybrid sports car in Finland that will sell for about $89,000, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Fisker isn't the only automaker to reap millions from Uncle Sam. Tesla Motors Inc., which offers a $109,000 British-built electric Roadster, received a $465 million government loan. Tesla is a California startup that focuses on all-electric vehicles. It has won a number of celebrity endorsements and is backed by investors that have contributed to Democratic campaigns. read more

NASA Downgrades Asteroid-Strike Threat

We may have dodged this bullet, but the awful truth is that tens of thousands of these things are zipping through space at great speeds. Many in paths we know about but most remain undetected in their flights around the sun. As late as the 1950's astronomers used to look at the moons many craters thinking that these huge craters were caused by volcanic activity only in later years did we learn that these many craters were caused by the violent impacts of asteroids and meteorite's. And in recent years we are beginning to see the many large asteroid impact sites all over the earth. These were difficult to locate due to the weathering process that exist here on Earth, but with the help of satellite imaging hundreds of major impact sites have been located. Many of these craters are miles across and if such an event would occur today life as we know it would cease. The impact of an asteroid only one mile in diameter in California would create a land tidal wave hundreds of feet high that would sweep across the United States at a speed of about 500 miles an hour literally going coast to coast destroying everything in it path with a resulting dust cloud that would cover the entire earth causing severe climatic changes for tens of years.

The odds are against this happening in our life-time. But the fact is that it will happen again and again in the future and there is little we can do to prevent it. And another frightening truth exist. If such a object is on path to impact the earth in the near future and the authorities know about it you can be sure we, the public will be left in the dark. We will not know the awful truth until the atmosphere is set on fire by the heat of entry and we view the massive fire ball that pushes up through the stratosphere. A fireball that will be seen for hundreds of miles from the impact point. And then we will hear the distant rumble of the fast approaching tidal wave of earth that is barreling down on us with the speed of a jet plane. Not a pretty picture, but a reality that is unavoidable and final! Man-made global warming, Ha! This could be the real thing!

NASA says the chances of an 885-foot (270-meter) asteroid striking Earth in 2036 have been downgraded.

Scientists initially believed there was a 1-in-45,000 chance that Apophis could hit the planet on April 13, 2036. But NASA said Wednesday the threat has been dropped to 1-in-250,000 after it recalculated the asteriod's path.

Earth got a scare in 2004, when initial readings suggested the newly discovered Apophis seemed to have a chance of hitting in 2029. Further observations ruled out any possibility of an impact. read more from FOX News

Dog Fighting Video and Free Speech

The Supreme Court in wading in on a controversial issue with the ACLU and the NRA siding with one another this should be a good one to watch. The issue simply put is over a video showing dog fights. If this is ruled unlawful then videos of bull fighting and many hunting videos could soon be ruled unlawful. Just a small step from there to outlawing certain fishing videos that show the death of our scaly friends. Although I oppose any form of dog fighting this video was used by the defendant in the case to condemn that so-called sport. As I see it, this should be a clear and easy case for the nine black-robed members of the high court, but then one can never be sure.

As a life long fisherman and hunter I see nothing wrong in video taping my fishing trips and the kill on hunting trips. I still maintain a number of videos taken south of the border at the bull rings. And as I was quick to point out to my grandson recently--they do kill the bulls. Supreme Court Weighs Free Speech in Dog Fighting Case
Robert Stevens, a dog lover, sold bloody pit bull fighting videos that have raised questions on whether free speech protects the sale of horrific scenes of animal cruelty.

WASHINGTON -- On the first Tuesday of October, the second day of its new session, the Supreme Court will take up the case of a dog lover whose bloody pit bull fighting videos have raised questions on whether free speech protects the sale of horrific scenes of animal cruelty.

Robert Stevens, 69, was sentenced by a Pittsburgh jury in 2005 to more than three years in prison for selling the graphic videos of dog fights. The Virginia man's sentence was harsher than the one NFL quarterback Michael Vick got for bankrolling a dog-fighting ring.

The 1999 law used in Stevens' sentencing "prohibits the knowing creation, sale, or possession of a depiction of a live animal being intentionally maimed, mutilated, tortured, wounded, or killed" for commercial gain. But the law stipulates that the material must also lack "serious religious, political, scientific, educational, journalistic, historical, or artistic value."

The case centers on a basic fundamental question examining the reach of the First Amendment. Is the law so broad that it also covers some protected speech, thus making it invalid on its face?

A lower appellate court ruled that it was, striking down Stevens' sentence.

Stevens has defended himself against charges of animal cruelty, insisting that he is a dog lover who distributes information about pit bulls to educate the public. Meanwhile, the government defends the decade-old law used to convict Stevens as an effective deterrent to stop animal cruelty, alleging that Stevens is the type of facilitator and profiteer the law is meant to stop. read more

Obama's Zombie Doctors

Did you see all the doctors in the White House rose garden yesterday over a hundred of them. And guess what---all in their white coats ready to go to work for Obama. Wonder who told them what to wear? Obama's staff, or someone else behind the wall of deception around this white house. One thing is certain these guys, these doctors were in lock-step with the great one. I've never in all my years seen a group of doctors have a meeting where they all dress the same. This is scary and reminds me in many ways of what goes on in totalitarian states where the great leader tells everyone what to do. Is Obama already the boss the supreme commander of these doctors who quite obviously are willing to give up their individuality for the sake of the state. No need to get a "second opinion" from these guys because they all think alike, dress alike and act alike. They are in effect "Obama's Zombie Doctors"!

Obama Holds Doctors' Summit in Effort to Promote Health Care Overhaul

The doctor made a White House call Monday -- 150 of them, in fact, all costumed in white hospital coats -- to try to help President Obama administer a booster shot to his ailing health care reform drive.

White House spokesman Reid Cherlin described the assembled physicians, from all 50 states, as the best voices for reform because they witness the current health care system on a day-to-day basis.

"These folks know better than anybody about what works and what doesn't," Cherlin told FOXNews.com, adding that the physicians come from "a variety of groups that we work with."

But the doctors in the Rose Garden were all supporters of health care reform -- and the invitation-only guest list drew heavily from Doctors for America, a grassroots organization that backs a government-run insurance option.

Roughly 98 percent of the group's 15,000 members support a public insurance option, Doctors for America spokeswoman Megan Smith told FOXNews.com. She said roughly 40 of the 150 doctors who attended the meeting were from the organization.

Cherlin insisted that the doctors "were not invited based on their support for a public option."

Nearly 63 percent of doctors prefer both a public and a private health insurance option, according to a recent survey by the New England Journal of Medicine. read more from FOX Rest easy all you right-wing extremist these Zombie Doctors are not coming for your brains, because they don't think you have any! Revisionist History: The New Trojan Horse

I experienced the full result of revisionist history this past weekend as my grandson who is now a junior at one of our great universities, rode with me to the once war-torn city of Vicksburg, Mississippi. I has telling him about a recent post of mine about the Kennedy assassination and Lee Harvey Oswald when much to my surprise he stated, "I always thought Oswald was a right winger"! Needless to say, I was shocked and hopefully set him straight on that point. Naturally I asked where he heard such a thing, he stated he couldn't remember he had just always thought that. His mother and father are both staunch conservatives and know the truth about that event and Oswald. That exchange got me to wondering how many other things had he been misinformed about over the years. How much revisionist history had been fed to this young man and to the millions that go though our school systems.

Those on the left have been busy, very busy rewriting our great history to fit their perverted idea of what American has been in an attempt to corrupt the minds of the future generations to insure the America they dream of. And sadly, I must admit that in many cases they have been successful. While Americans slept, the Trojan Horse of revisionism has been brought into our schools, into our homes and into our life's. The great gilded Trojan Horse has been adorned with layers of enlightenment ,modern progressivism, and a shining new truth. But inside this great marvel lies an ugliness, a lie, a deception and a ticking bomb that can if left unchecked can destroy traditional American values.

As I sit writing the final lines of this post I am still stuck by the words of my grandson, "I always thought Oswald was a right winger". This drove the point of what I already knew home, more than any article by a great writer ever could. This was my grandson, and I knew at that moment that his young mind had been filled by the grand lies of "revisionist history".
