JUST LIKE YESTERDAY,  I REMEMBER THAT FALL AFTERNOON AND THE EVENTS THAT SHOCKED THE WORLD AND CHANGED FOREVER THE HISTORY OF THIS COUNTRY, IF NOT THE WORLD.  I WAS LIVING WITH MY GRANDMOTHER WHILE ATTENDING NORTHEAST LOUISIANA STATE IN MONROE, LOUISIANA JUST A FEW HUNDRED MILES FROM WHAT WOULD BECOME GROUND ZERO FOR THAT FATAL DAY AND THE MONTHS THAT FOLLOWED. 

 

DALLAS, TEXAS, AS ONE COMMENTATOR WOULD DESCRIBE IT, WAS A HOT BED OF RIGHT WING ACTIVITY.  A HOME TO REACTIONARY FANATICS INTENT ON DESTROYING THE PROGRESSIVE AGENDA OF PRESIDENT KENNEDY.  THIS WAS THE EARLY REPORTING ON THE THREE MAJOR NETWORKS OF THE DAY---ABC, NBC, AND CBS.  CABLE NEWS WAS YEARS AWAY.  LATER, IT WAS LEARNED THAT THE ASSASSIN, LEE HARVEY OSWALD, WAS NOT THAT WILD EYED REACTIONARY RIGHT WINGER, BUT A CONFIRMED COMMUNIST WHO HAD LIVED IN THE SOVIET UNION AND HAD MARRIED A RUSSIAN WOMAN.  IMMEDIATELY THE NEWS MEDIA OF THAT DAY WENT SILENT ON THE MOTIVES OF THE KENNEDY KILLER.  SUDDENLY HE WAS JUST A ANGRY YOUNG MAN WITH NO POLITICAL MOTIVE.  SOMETIME LATER THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY OF NEW ORLEANS, JIM GARRISON, WOULD TRY AND SHOW OSWALD'S CONNECTION TO CUBA AND COMMUNIST IN THIS COUNTRY ONLY TO HAVE HIMSELF PAINTED AS A NUTCASE BY THOSE IN THE MEDIA.

ON THAT FATEFUL NOVEMBER DAY I WAS TAKING WHAT WOULD BE A SHORT NAP AFTER ATTENDING MORNING CLASSES AT NORTHEAST STATE, WHEN GRANDMOTHER ENTER THE ROOM AND TELLING ME IN AN EXCITED VOICE THAT PRESIDENT KENNEDY HAD BEEN SHOT.  THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY WAS SPENT IN WATCHING THE NEWS REPORTS COMING FROM THE THREE NETWORKS.  THE NETWORKS THAT CONTROLLED ALL THE NEWS COMING OUT AT THAT TIME.  THE NETWORKS, THAT FEW REALIZED AT THE TIME, THAT HAD AN AGENDA, A VESTED INTEREST IN WHAT WAS REPORTED.  A NEWS MEDIA THAT WAS DECIDEDLY TILTED TO THE LEFT.

IT TOOK ME YEARS TO REALIZE THE FULL EXTENT OF MY BRAIN WASHING.  PERHAPS IT WAS WHEN I MET GENERAL EDWIN WALKER.  A MAN WHO MOST OF YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD OF.  BUT THE MAN WHO LEE HARVEY OSWALD SHOT AT A MONTH OR SO BEFORE HE SHOT KENNEDY.  A MAN WHO WAS BRANDED AS A RIGHT WING FANATIC BY THE MEDIA.  NEVERTHELESS, A TARGET OF OSWALD.  THIS WAS FOUND OUT WHEN THE BULLETS FROM THE PRESIDENTS BODY WERE COMPARED WITH THOSE TAKEN FROM A WINDOW CASING IN GENERAL WALKER'S HOUSE FOLLOWING AN ATTEMPT ON HIS LIFE.  I HAD OCCASION TO MEET THE GENERAL WHEN HE SPOKE AT A SMALL COLLEGE IN BROOKHAVEN, MISSISSIPPI AROUND 1965.  WITHOUT DOUBT, THE GENERAL WAS WHAT THE MEDIA OF THE DAY WOULD CALL A RIGHT WINGER!

PRESIDENT KENNEDY'S DEATH WAS ANNOUNCED SEVERAL HOURS AFTER THE FIRST REPORTS OF THE SHOOTING IN DEALEY PLAZA.  STRANGELY I FELT NOTHING.  THAT IS NOTHING EXCEPT FOR HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN.  ALL OVER AMERICA, PEOPLE WERE CRYING FOR THE LOSS OF WHAT THEY SAW AS A GREAT AMERICAN LEADER.  BUT I MUST TELL YOU THAT MY THOUGHTS OF KENNEDY WERE NOT THE SAME.  I WAS REFLECTING ON WHAT THIS MAN, THIS PRESIDENT MEANT TO ME.  TO ME HE WAS THE MAN WHO LEFT THE FREE CUBANS AT THE BAY OF PIGS WAITING ON THE BEACHES FOR PROMISED AMERICAN SUPPORT THAT NEVER CAME.  HE WAS THE SAME MAN WHO SENT FEDERAL TROOPS ON TO THE CAMPUS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSISSIPPI AT OXFORD.  SINCE THE DAYS FOLLOWING THE CIVIL WAR SOUTHERNERS HAVE NOT LIKED THE INTRODUCTION OF ARMY TROOPS TO PUT DOWN CIVIL UNREST.  AS THEY ARE SELDOM, IF EVER USED IN THE NORTH.  THESE THOUGHTS RACED THROUGH MY MIND AS I REFLECTED ON THE EVENTS OF THE DAY IN DALLAS.  NO TEARS WERE SHED WITH KENNEDY'S PASSING.  YES, I KNEW OF THE YOUNG MAN'S HEROIC ADVENTURES IN THE PACIFIC DURING WWII.   AND FOR THAT I ADMIRED HIM.  MANY AMERICANS ADMIRED HIM FOR THAT ALONG WITH WHAT THEY SAW AS GREATNESS IN STANDING UP TO THE SOVIETS DURING THE CUBAN MISSILE CRISIS.  I FOR ONE, THOUGHT THE CRISIS WOULD NEVER HAVE OCCURRED IF THE RUSSIANS HADN'T BEEN ENCOURAGED BY OUR FAILURE AT THE BAY OF PIGS.  A FAILURE I ATTRIBUTED TO JOHN KENNEDY AND HIS BROTHER ROBERT.

  STRANGE, WHEN I WENT TO BED ON THE NIGHT OF KENNEDY ASSASSIGNATION, I THOUGHT NOT OF THE PT BOAT CAPTAIN WHO SAVED HIS MEN AFTER HIS BOAT WAS SUNK BY THE JAPANESE, BUT OF ANOTHER AMERICAN HERO WHO FOUGHT THE SAME ENEMY IN WWII.  GENERAL CLAIRE CHENNAULT WHO WAS IN COMMAND OF THE "FLYING TIGERS" DURING THE DAYS BEFORE THE UNITED STATES ENTERED THE WAR AGAINST JAPAN  IN WWII.  I HAD MET THE GENERAL AS A YOUNG BOY AT MY FATHER'S BARBER SHOP ACROSS FROM THE CAMPUS AT NORTHEAST STATE IN MONROE WHEN MY FATHER WAS TEACHING AT THE TIME.  FATHER WAS A MAN WHO LOVED TO TEACH, BUT HIS FIRST LOVE WAS CUTTING HAIR.  HE HAS WORKED HIS WAY THROUGH COLLEGE VIA THE BARBER SHOP. 

ALTHOUGH I WAS NOT SORRY TO SEE KENNEDY GO, HAD I KNOWN WHAT WAS COMING IN THE PERSON LBJ, MY THOUGHTS WOULD HAVE BEEN QUITE DIFFERENT.  BUT I WAS A YOUNG MAN IN SEARCH OF HIMSELF.  A YOUNG MAN WITH FEW THOUGHTS OF THE FUTURE, BUT ONLY OF TODAY.  AND AS FOR TOMORROW, WELL IT WOULD BRING WHAT IT WOULD BRING.  THE ONLY CERTAINITY WAS THAT KENNEDY DIED TODAY.

CARLOS DANGER IS THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING WEINER.  IN HIS EFFORT TO SHOW OFF WHAT HE BELIEVED WERE HIS IMPORTANT ASSETS ANTHONY WEINER HAS ONLY EXPOSED A SEVERE CHARACTER FLAW.  A FLAW THAT EVEN THE OPEN-MINDED CITIZENS OF THE BIG APPLE ARE UNWILLING TO ACCEPT AS EVIDENCED BY HIS INCREDIBLE SHRINKING POLL NUMBERS.  EVEN THE FRIENDS OF THE EXPOSED WEINER'S SUCH AS BILL AND HILLARY CLINTON ARE RUNNING FROM THE SCANDAL FOR FEAR IT WILL IMPACT AN POTENTIAL RUN BY HILLARY FOR PRESIDENT IN 2016.  SO WILL THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN CONTINUE ON HIS WAY TO OBLIVION---HELL, HE'S DAMN NEAR INVISIBLE TO MANY NEW YORKERS ALREADY.

A Rooster's Tale

A FARMER DECIDED HIS ROOSTER WAS GETTING OLD AND UNABLE TO SERVICE THE HENS.  SO HE WENT TO TOWN AND PURCHASED A NEW YOUNG COCK.  AND RETURNED TO THE FARM AND PUT THE YOUNG STUD IN THE BARNYARD.  THE OLD COCK OF THE WALK APPROACHED THE NEWCOMER AND TOLD HIM THEY WOULD HAVE TO DECIDE WHO WOULD BE THE NEW BARNYARD BOSS.  THE YOUNG ROOSTER AGREED AND ASKED WHAT HE HAD IN MIND.  THE OLD ROOSTER SAID LET'S HAVE A RACE AND THE WINNER GETS THE HENS.  THE YOUNGSTER THOUGHT A MINUTE AND AGREED KNOWING HE COULD OUT RUN THE OLD COCK.  THEN THE OLD ROOSTER SAID, SINCE I'M SO OLD AND CANNOT RUN AS FAST AS  YOU WILL YOU GIVE ME A SLIGHT HEAD START.  THE YOUNG COCK AGREED, KNOWING HE COULD CATCH HIM EVEN WITH A HEAD START.  SO THE TWO LINED UP FOR THEIR RACE AROUND THE FARM HOUSE WITH THE OLD BOY LINING UP OUT FRONT.  OFF TO THE RACES THEY WENT AROUND THE HOUSE WITH THE YOUNG ROOSTER CATCHING UP WITH THE OLD BOY AND JUST AS HE WAS ABOUT TO CATCH AND PASS HIM THE FARMER RAN OUT AN SHOT THE YOUNG ROOSTER DEADER THAT HELL, EXCLAIMING THAT WAS THE THIRD QUEER ROOSTER HE HAD BROUGHT THIS MONTH.

An astonished film maker is coming to grips with the moment he witnessed one of nature's rarest phenomenon’s - a tornado comprised entirely of fire – and lived to tell the tale. Chris Tangey had been out in Alice Springs, Australia, scouting locations for a new movie. After finishing the task, he went over to help workers at a cattle station when he was confronted by one of nature's most intimidating spectacles. A fire tornado. Distant view: At the time, he was 300 meters away from the 30 meter high fire swirl which 'sounded like a fighter jet', despite there being no wind in the area. Destructive: A fire tornado, also know as a fire devil, is caused when a column of warm, rising air comes into contact - or causes - a fire on the ground. These fire tornadoes are a natural rarity, but when they occur they predictably cause significant damage. These fire whirls are normally known to only last for around two minutes. But Tangey found himself mesmerized by the tornado for more than 40 minutes. The 52-year-old said: The weather was perfectly still, and it was about 25 degrees Celsius - it was an entirely uneventful day. Then the next thing a man is yelling, 'What the hell is that?', and I turned around and saw a 30 meter fire tornado. I was about 300-meters away and there was no wind but the tornado sounded like a fighter jet. My jaw just dropped.Tangey, who runs Alice Springs Film and Television, in central Australia, described it as a 'once in ten lifetimes experience'. Thankfully, the fire tornado occurred in the remote Australian outback, and no injuries were reported. He added: I've been shooting in the outback for 23 years, and I have never seen anything like it. We've heard about them but they're never seen. At any time there were three different tornadoes, it just kept going and going for 40 minutes. The whole experience was staggering, and the length and variety were astonishing. Predictably, these rare spectacles are extremely dangerous. In 1923, a fire tornado emerged during Japan's Great Kanto Earthquake, and killed 38,000 people in just 15 minutes.

Is it  Little Trayvon Martin...! No this is not Trayvon Martin, but one must wonder how far removed he was from this character!  At 17 years of age. Don't know how much coverage this story has had in your area, but, if it has, here's a new look at it! For those of us who thought we were well informed and weren't.....quite the reality check. That old adage applies here: "there are two sides to every story." We don't always get the truth from the media. One of my favorite rants - the liberal controlled media, television news, newspapers, magazines, radio; all continue to show 12 year old Trayvon; NOT 17 year old Trayvon. They continue to show the 5 year old picture BECAUSE it helps to cement in your mind the cute, little, hoodie-wearing youngster who was stalked by this monster. In reality "little Trayvon" at the time of his death stood almost 6'2" tall and weighed 175 muscular pounds. He had numerous run ins with authorities (both at school and local police), had been stopped and almost arrested two days before his death for smacking a bus driver in the face, because the driver refused to let him ride for free. He was released because the driver was told not to press charges by the bus company and to continue on his route. When "little Trayvon" was suspended at school it was not only because he tried to bring a little marijuana in with him, he was in possession of wedding rings and other jewelry, watches, etc. that he said he "found" along with a large screwdriver while on the way to school that day. The jewelry was turned over to the Police by the school. I am not trying to say this was a good shooting. I am not trying to say this kid deserved to die. I am saying the media in the USA is controlled by liberals who twist and distort what you see and hear in order for you to see things their way.

Not a single paper has printed RECENT photos of this kid, because it would not keep your interest in this case. Not a single paper will admit that this kid was a marijuana dealer. His friends on Facebook all said he had the "best plants." Not a single paper will show you any of his recent photos where he shows off a mouthful of gold teeth and all of his tattoos. Not a single newspaper will tell the news like it really is...and NOT how they want you to think it is. President King Obama looked at the FIVE year old photo the media chose to show the Nation and said, "If I had a son...he would look like Trayvon." So from that comment should I assume you did not bother to look for the facts in this shooting or should I assume you want a son who is a 17 year old drug dealing, gold teethed, tattooed thug whose name on one of his Facebook profiles was "Wild Nigga" who 'finds" jewelry and burglary tools on the way to school?

And as Paul Harvey used to say: And now you know the rest of the story. A fair and impartial news media in the USA? One that does not follow the liberal agenda? Is NOT looking to further divide this already fractured Nation?.

Dallas, Texas Passed new Auto Insurance Law

The City of Dallas, Texas passed an ordinance stating that if a driver is pulled over by law enforcement and is not able to provide proof of Insurance, the car is towed.

To retrieve the car after being impounded, they must show proof of insurance to have the car released.

This has made it easy for the City of Dallas to remove uninsured cars. Shortly after the "No Insurance" ordinance was passed, the Dallas impound lots began to fill up and were full after only nine days.
Over 80% of the impounded cars were driven by illegals. Now, not only must they provide proof of insurance to have their car released, they have to pay for the cost of the tow, a $350 fine, and $20 for every day their car is kept in the lot.
Guess what? Accident rates have gone down 47% and... Dallas' solution gets uninsured drivers off the road WITHOUT making anyone show proof of Nationality.
I Wonder how the Justice Department will get around this one??

I'm 72 and Tired!

I'm 72. Except for brief period in the 50's when I was doing my National Service, I've worked hard since I was 17. Except for some serious health challenges, I put in 50-hour weeks, and didn't call in sick in nearly 40 years. I made a reasonable salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, it looks as though retirement was a bad idea, and I'm tired. Very tired.

I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it.     

I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to.

I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries use our oil money to fund mosques and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in Australia , New Zealand , UK, America and Canada , while no one from these countries are allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia or any other Arab country to teach love and tolerance..

I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate.

I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses or stick a needle in their arm while they tried to fight it off?

I'm tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of all parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I'm tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

I'm really tired of people who don't take responsibility for their lives and actions. I'm tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination or big-whatever for their problems.

I'm also tired and fed up with seeing young men and women in their teens and early 20's be-deck them selves in tattoos and face studs, thereby making themselves un-employable and claiming money from the Government.

Yes, I'm damn tired. But I'm also glad to be 72.. Because, mostly, I'm not going to have to see the world these people are making. I'm just sorry for my granddaughter and her children. Thank God I'm on the way out and not on the way in.

THE CHIHUAHUA

Two buddies were out for a Saturday stroll. One had a Doberman and the other had a Chihuahua. As they sauntered down the street, the guy with Doberman said to his friend, "Let's go over to that bar and get something to drink." The guy with the Chihuahua said, "We can't go in there. We've got dogs with us." The one with the Doberman said, "Just follow my lead."

They walked over to the bar and the guy with the Doberman puts on a pair of dark glasses and started to walk in. The bouncer at the door said, "Sorry, Mac, no pets allowed." The man with the Doberman said, "You don't understand. This is my Seeing-Eye dog." The bouncer said, "A Doberman pinscher?" The man said, "Yes, they're using them now. They're very good." The bouncer said, "Come on in."

The buddy with the Chihuahua figured what the heck, so he put on a pair of dark glasses and started to walk in. He knew his would be more unbelievable. Once again the bouncer said, "Sorry, pal, no pets allowed." The man with the Chihuahua said, "You don't understand. This is my Seeing-Eye dog." The bouncer said, "A Chihuahua?"

 The man with the Chihuahua said, "A Chihuahua? They gave me a f**king Chihuahua?"
