EVERY SCHOOL CHILD KNOWS THE WASHINGTON IRVING STORY OF THE "LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW". A TALE ABOUT A SCHOOL TEACHER, ICHABOD CRANE, AND THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN. THERE IS ANOTHER LESSER KNOWN TALE TOLD BY A DRUNK COWBOY. SEEMS THAT SEVERAL DRUNK COWHANDS WERE SITTING AT THE LOCAL WATERING HOLE AND DISCUSSING MEANINGFUL EVENTS IN THEIR LIVES. ONE COWBOY RELATED HIS EXPERIENCE OF THE NIGHT BEFORE. HE TOLD HIS FRIENDS THAT UPON LEAVING THE SALOON, HE FOUND THAT SOMEONE HAD CUT HIS HORSE'S HEAD OFF. HE FURTHER ELABORATED THAT THE WORSE PART OF THE NIGHT WAS THE TRIP HOME, COMPLAINING THAT HE HAD TO RIDE WITH HIS HAND DOWN THE POOR CRITTER'S WINDPIPE ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE RANCH JUST TO KEEP FROM FALLING OFF. FURTHERMORE, HE NOTED THAT NOT ONCE DID HE EVER HAVE TO USE HIS SPURS AS THE HORSE WAS IN FULL GALLOP ALL THE WAY HOME.
