The Enemy is Islam!

Terror in the sky's on Christmas Day. Not that some needed a reminder, but another radical Islamist tried to blow up a plane again and on a Christian holy day. It was only his lack of knowledge that prevented this attack from being successful and was not due in any part to the government of this country which was, as usual asleep at the wheel.

Umar Abdulmutallab, a wealthy Muslim determined that Allah wanted him to kill Christians on Christmas Day. Obama finally spoke on the attack after days of silence. And managed to utter that word he hates, "terror" briefly, but at the same time refused to connect the day and Islam with the attack. I suppose to him, the date was merely a coincidence, you and I know better.

Despite overwhelming evidence the president and those around him refuse to link terrorism with Islam and continue to tell us that Islam is a religion of peace. The president and those around him are blinded by political correctness and their Utopian belief in multiculturalism. Our state department will NOT link terrorism to Islam despite hundreds of attacks over many years. Our troops stand down on Islamic holidays while a terrorist like Abdulmutallab chooses our holy day to attack. If one of our soldiers in anyway defaces the Koran he is subject to swift military justice. Our leaders insist again and again that the terrorist who attack us don't represent Islam when everyone knows that's a lie.

Our so-called experts on terror agonize over whether this terrorist or that terrorist is a member of al Qaeda. That's not even important because we are dealing with a world wide Muslim movement. We have managed to tie ourselves down in Afghanistan while the enemy remains mobile. While we insist on holding ground in Afghanistan the enemy is advancing in Africa and Yemen. While our leaders point to the slums of the Muslim world as the breeding ground for terrorist they ignore the fact that most jihadis are coming from wealthy and middle class families. And yet, we continue digging wells and building schools in Afghanistan in the foolish hope this will prevent the poor from joining the ranks of the terrorist. Its time to look at the universities and at the jet-set Muslim youth of the world. Our leaders need to quit lying to themselves and to us. The threat is real and the enemy is Islam.

Nationalism and the Sleeping Giant

Nationalism
Following the close of WWI and WWII and the collapse of colonialism rampant nationalism swept through Africa, the middle east and Asia. This movement was hailed by most liberals and progressives in the west while at the same time these same voices began to condemn the old nationalism of Europe and the United States. For these progressives patriotism was OK for the newly emerging states, but not for the old nations of western Europe and the United States. This double standard quickly gained support in the west and spun out-of-control in western Europe leading to the ascendancy of the EU. In America this movement gained strength, but its inroads were not on the European scale.
Then came 9/11 and the world, particularly the west was jolted. Many began to see new threats: first the obvious one of radical Islam and next a somewhat more obscure one, "a lack of nationalism in the west". Slowly it became evident that national pride had been diminished and replaced with the new multiculturalism that recognized no national boundaries. And it was this new multiculturalism that provided the breeding ground for yet another emerging force that of "Pan-Islamic Nationalism". An old enemy of the west that had once been vanquished was raising its ugly head again and threatening not only western Europe, but also the new world.
Until 9/11 western Europe had stood virtually alone against the onslaught of this new enemy as most Americans were unaware of this new danger. 9/11 changed everything, but the entrenched forces of liberalism and multiculturalism in Europe and America will not go quietly into the night. Their Utopian dream of a world without borders will not be easily brushed aside.
The tide appears to be turning as a new nationalism, a new pride in country and tradition is growing in Europe; while at the same time the patriotism of many Americans is being revitalized. To paraphrase Admiral Yamamoto, "this new enemy has awakened a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve", America and her friends in Europe have had enough and our gates are no longer open to those who would trample our traditions. A new patriotism, a new national pride is being born in the west and soon the forces of multiculturalism and pan-Islamic nationalism will feel the wrath of this sleeping giant.

Where is America's Geert Wilders

Geert Wilders is a man on a mission. One who sees the influence of the radical Islamic hordes coming from the south and this nationalist, this Dutch patriot, this man who puts his country above multiculturalism has decided to take a stand. In a time when third world nationalism is admired by many progressives, western nationalism is condemned in the same breath. Geert is a proud Dutch nationalist who would put sensible immigration laws into effect and deport Muslim criminals back to their native country. There is noting radical about these positions and they are gaining momentum in the Netherlands.

Geert is leading the charge against Muslim intrusions in his country and sees the approaching dangers from a people who will not assimilate into his peaceful nation. We have no such leader in this country. I see no leader here of similar statue, and sadly none on the horizon. Instead our leaders are constantly making excuses for the violent actions of those who follow Islam, saying that only a few are radicalized and present a danger. No leader is yet to step forward in this country and say that its Islam that's at the heart of the problem. And until that leader emerges many can only voice their concerns and continue to look for the American Geert Wilders.

Geert Wilders' One-Man Crusade against Islam

Geert Wilders wants to ban the Koran, impose a tax on headscarves and calculate the cost of immigration. The Dutch right-wing populist also plans to run for prime minister in 2011 -- and his party is currently leading in the polls.

Wilders stands a chance of becoming prime minister of the Netherlands. The country's next parliamentary election is scheduled for May 2011, and his party, the PVV, has been leading in the polls for months. According to those polls, if elections were held today the PVV would capture about 20 percent of the vote. It performed almost as well in the European elections in June as the ruling Christian Democrats.

The leader of the PVV is featured on the cover page of some newspaper every day, and every headline about Wilders on the Internet gets three times as many clicks as a headline about Jan Peter Balkenende. Although Balkenende is the Dutch prime minister, Wilders already holds considerable sway over the government. Since he left the liberal People's Party for Freedom and Democracy in 2004, he has applied great pressure on Dutch administrations with his campaign against Islam. Many of his sentences begin with the words "One ought to be allowed to say that…," followed by statements like: Dutch culture is better than that of the Muslims; there is an Islamic invasion; the Muslims are turning Europe into an Arab colony. The reality is more complicated than that, but Wilders prefers to use simple words.

He wants to "recapture" the Netherlands from the hands of the Islamists, street-by-street and neighborhood-by-neighborhood. Wilders uses expressions like "Moroccan street terrorists" and "the Islamization tsunami" -- soundbites that are made for headlines. For him, Muslims are people who pollute the public space with their headscarves, their "beards of hate," burqas and mosques. Wilders even recently called for a tax on headscarves: €1,000 ($1,500) per person and year. But he insists that he has nothing against Muslims, only against Islam.

This is an abstruse verbal balancing act, but the people of this small, wealthy, liberal country are not troubled by Wilders' outrageous remarks. Much has changed in the Netherlands since the day, five years ago, when a fanatical Islamist shot and killed the Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh, then slit his throat and pinned a threatening message to his chest with a knife. Nov. 2, 2004 was the Netherlands' Sept. 11, and after that day many politicians declared that the country was now at war.

It was the day that Geert Wilders' rise to prominence began. read more

Release Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl - Prisoner Swap?

The Taliban have recently released a video of a captured American soldier, Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl. Pfc. Bergdahl was captured this past June in Afghanistan after straying from his unit there. He is now being used by the Taliban for propaganda purposes. The release of this video at Christmas is despicable and shows the depths of depravity that the enemy will sink too. I'm sure that American commanders are using all means to find and secure the release of this young soldier. The question I would now pose is this: should we attempt some type of prisoner exchange to obtain the release of this young soldier? I have mixed feelings on this issue and would welcome your input. The government of the United States has done this in the past, notably in the early years of the War Between the States, but it was later discontinued when the government realized this program was benefiting the south more than the north. The government of Israel also does prisoner exchanges. Like I said before, I see benefits and dangers on this issue.
KABUL — In a Christmas Day move, the Taliban on Friday released a video of an American soldier captured in Afghanistan, showing him apparently healthy but spouting criticism about the U.S. military operation. In Idaho, Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl's family pleaded for his release and urged him to "stay strong."

Bergdahl disappeared June 30 while based in eastern Afghanistan and is the only known American serviceman in captivity. The Taliban claimed his capture in a video released in mid-July that showed the young Idaho soldier appearing downcast and frightened. He hadn't been heard from until Friday's video, in which he looks well and speaks clearly.

The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force confirmed hours later that the man in the video was Bergdahl, but denounced both its timing and content.

"This is a horrible act which exploits a young soldier, who was clearly compelled to read a prepared statement," said a statement from U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Gregory Smith, ISAF's spokesman. "To release this video on Christmas Day is an affront to the deeply concerned family and friends of Bowe Bergdahl, demonstrating contempt for religious traditions and the teachings of Islam." read more from FOX News
