The Obama Supporter

The elites and academics all have told us over and over that Barack Obama is perhaps the most intelligent, one of the best educated, and certainly one of the greatest orators we have ever had as president. Is he all of the above, and is this why has these recognized leaders of academia and the east and west coast elitists are virtually swooning over his mere presence. What is this fascination with this heretofore virtually unknown senator from Illinois. Is it his undeniable charm, his youth, his appearance---what is the fascination these people have with Obama. Could it be the fact that he is black and that most liberals have deep guilt feelings toward the way they perceive blacks were repressed in the past and see this as a opportunity to somehow right a wrong. Perhaps its all of these. I do feel a need to point out however, that if Barack were a black conservative then none of these things would cause liberals to support or much less praise this man. So the bottom line is not his race, it is not his charm, it is not his academic standing, it is not his youth, it is not his appearance, it is his political ideology. True his liberalism is the overriding factor and his other attributes are just gravy for the elites and the academics. He is in effect, everything rolled into one for those on the left. The tingle that Chris Matthews, and others of a like mind feel when they see and hear this man is no mystery, he represents all that they believe in. He is to put it bluntly, their god. In him they see a path to a new future and the prospect of the great society they have long envisioned. These, so-called progressives, do not like the America that has, in most cases given them a great life, but favor the establishment of a new order in which the government will be the great equalizer and lift up the down-trodden (as they see them) in our society. They think that everyone has the same ambitions and drives that they have, and those that are left behind have only a repressive government to blame. They see the existing form of government as the problem ---individuals, in their minds, are all eager for a better life. To them government, and only government has the ability to help those left behind. What the liberal cannot grasp, cannot understand is that the drive for success does not exist in everyone. Some are content with their positions, but others feel that they are owed something---sadly, many fit into the category. They people are ripe pickings for the progressives. Those progressives with their misguided beliefs that think they can actually help. There is a common bond between these two groups---one who feels he is owed something and the other who feels he owes him something. The sad fact is that neither can, in the end be satisfied. Utopia is a wonderful dream, but a rational man will recognize it for what it is ---just a dream. The drive for perfection is often a good thing, but the act of taking from one to give to another will in the end destroy the prosperity of all. Sadly the Obama supporter will never see this.

White guilt and the Democrat way is like pudding filled mush inside the skull, instead of brains that are supposed to be there. These two sets of people feed off one another, like leaches not knowing when there next feeding is coming along. Obama is an idiot, who is being used by the Democrats.

You just gotta be stupid not to have seen this coming from the get-go. I knew something was fishy about this one that is why I refused to vote for this "social worker". In my opinion, Generals should be the only ones elected president.

Teresa, Obama is certainly a idiot and the Democrats fall into that group also, but by far the worst are those who stand with their worthless hands out waiting to be fed by the fruits of others labor. The lazy leeches in our society.

That wouldn't be a bad idea Aloha2u, at least then we would know more about him, as it is with the current occupant of 1600 PA ave we don't know if he arrived on a surfboard or one step ahead of a Kenyan Lion.

Being highly educated doesn't necessarily mean you have any common sense, and without common sense you make bad decisions.

Some of Obama's voters are just plain ignorant beggers. They voted for him with their hands out wanting some of that "government money". They have no idea where the money comes from.

There are many highly educated IDIOTS in this world, Barack Hussein Obama is one of them...

I know he has all those degrees, but we have yet to see his grades. Regardless---like you say he is still a idiot!

Sometimes people are so smart they're dumb, other times people are so dumb they're smart.

Sometimes too much knowledge can lead to a mudding of the waters and lead to indecsive and waffling---not a good quality in a President.

Outstanding post!

It's interesting that the Dems seem to have some guilt over past oppression. Weren't most, of the Southern politicians supporting segregation Democrats? Apparently, they are making us all pay for their sins. The biggest losers in this case, unfortunately, are the beneficiaries of the Dem's guilt induced redistribution.

Yes Matt following the War Between the States the Democrates were few in number---during radical reconstruction the south was governed at gun point by freedmen and northern carpetbeggars gradually as federal forces were withdrawn the Democrates gain power and kept it for many years. True those who supported segeration were Democrates, but the stuggle was wrapped around political power---the black and white issue was always there, but as I said it was also a battle for political control in the counties and cities throughout the south. The blacks who at one time were all Republicans moved to the new Democate party and the whites who had been Democrates moved to the Republican party--a major flip-flop. The many underlying causes of these shifts are complex and I dare say one that few fully understand. I could go on and on, but nuff said.

I actually think W was smarter. At least W understood that sending 13,000 of the 40,000 requested number of troops is just putting more good men and women in harm's way without addressing the problem.

It doesn't take an idiot to know that you should listen to your generals, ie people who know what the hell they're talking about.

It is his ideology that the left idolizes and it is his ideology that the right opposes, not his color. While his color is not the reason that the left idolizes him, they like to use it to delegitimize those that disagree with his ideology.
As for utopia, you have written in this post and another post about how the utopeans have there own version of utopia and they feel there version is what is best for all because they are smarter than us. What they don't understand is the fact that different people have different ideas about what a perfect world would be.

Ron Russell said...

Yea Dr Dave we are still waiting to see Obama transcripts, but then I don't really need to for he already has an "F" in my class. W was smarter! You know many fell for the lie during Bush-vs-Kerry that Kerry was the smarter of the two, but when the grades were finally released from Yale--guess what?

Ron Russell said...

Most all Utopians are socialist and most all socialist know theirs is the only path to the perfection they dream of.

Actually, I disagree with the assessment that President Obama is an idiot. I think he is very smart, like a fox. He has been continually manipulating and conniving for his entire adult life, leading him to take residence in the White House. Never underestimate him, folks. He knows exactly what he is doing, in my opinion.

Ron Russell said...

I use to think that Larry, but then where are his grades, why is he so slow when not in the presence of TOTUS---I'm beginning to doubt he is any smarter than Bush. Great speaker or should I say reader and thats about it. His policies show no grasp of international issues and the economics he proposed are right of a discredited Keynesian playbook. He wears a nice mask, but the man is slowly revealing himself to be something of a fool.
