What Happens When Russia Controls Space?

Came across this interesting and thought provoking post yesterday at Seaspook and decided to pass it along to my readers. Seaspook as a great insight on things such as this, more than the average man on the street, due to his many years in Naval Intell.

"Never mind that Obama is letting Iran run free with it's nuclear weapon ambitions and may force Israel to ignite WWIII, or that he has filled his administration, including Homeland Security and the Defense Department with Muslims who's first loyalty is with Islam, and then claims that his critics are actually enabling al-Qaeda.

Now he's abandoning America's space program and turning it over to the Russians. Did you ever wonder why when the USSR collapsed and the Russian economy was in the toilet, they still managed to find the resources to keep their space program viable and every other country fighting to get into space? Because space is vital to economic and defense security. Who do you think is now going to have complete control of the so-called 'international space station' that was almost entirely financed and designed by the United States? Who will be able to turn the space station into a weapon against the free world?"

Space Daily:
Russia, which is set to hold a monopoly on flights to the international space station
(ISS), wants to charge more for rides on its Soyuz rocket, the space agency head said Tuesday.

"At a meeting of the space agency chiefs in Tokyo, I want to discuss the maintenance of transport to the station," Roskomos head Anatoly Perminov was quoted by the Interfax news agency as saying.

"We have an agreement until 2012 that Russia will be responsible for this. But after that? Excuse me but the prices should be absolutely different then!"

To be quite honest Ron, the likes of obama secretly long for the good ol days of communism, the gulags, the mass murders, totalitarianism and a real military threat to America from Russia. Well, more so than the Russia of today.

Their saddest days were when the USSR collapsed, why do you think so many university professors were still promising huge things from communism even as it was literally falling apart before their very eyes. They would love to see the old glory days.

This is another result of having a community activist, peace loving at all costs Mohammadian as president of nation.
He will strip away every defense he can and leave us naked and blind to our enemies. Russia was on the edge of a complete collapse. The one thing that may doom Russia is it's rampant drug abuse, chronic boozers for life and birth rate that has been in the tank for years.

To the fine readers of this blog:

Please go this link for a great event that will help educate many to the threats of Islamic inroads that have been made inside the gov't and other areas of our country.

Ron, I will be cross posting this and thanks again for doing a fine job.

Good post Ron.

The President is too busy fundamentally changing the United States to worry about Iran and Russia's space program. He feels that the greater threat is us conservatives running around with all thing dangerous Constitution talk. I mean we can’t have the people starting to the read the Constitution again. It might actually limit his ability to change the United States and that is the real threat to this administration.

I don't even want to think about it, because they may now that Obama is cutting our NASA budget. Heck, the Indians or several other countries could get ahead of us now. But the Russians would be the most dangerous.

"At the peak of the Apollo program, NASA was consuming almost 4 percent of the federal budget, which in terms of the 2011 budget would be about $150 billion. Today, the manned space program will die for want of $3 billion a year — 1/300th of last year’s stimulus package with its endless make-work projects that will leave not a trace on the national consciousness." -Charles Krauthammer

Folks, I have said since day 1, the destruction of America is the ultimate goal for Obama and Company...

So far, I have seen nothing to change that estimation...

That is interesting Ron, I am a person who believe that NASA funding should be cut, but I never really thought about the national defense aspect of it before.

Great post Ron. I am amazed that many conservatives that are for a strong national defense, fail to see why space is important. Our modern military would be crippled without satellite communications.

In the future we will become even more dependent on space technology.

Obama is a national security idiot. Reagan is rolling over in his grave right about now.
Obama fails to understand the decisions he makes today has enormous strategic implications for us tomorrow.

Thanks for highlighting this Ron.

Let's pray that we get this man out of office and turn this thing around. I understand that our space programs cost dearly, but we must be there and we cannot be an catch-up position.

Our President only connects with the U.N. All of his intellectual property is tied up with the Millennium Goal. He is blind to everything else.

God help us. This is such an important issue, and yet we've heard very little discussion about it.

Great question and commentary Ron.
